Due to issues with manager Ramon Tribulietx‘s coaching badges, we are announcing Dmitry Emelyanov to be our head coach for the time being.
At the moment, Ramon holds badges that are acceptable at the highest level in Spain, but due to variances between the regulations in Spain and Russia, he is ineligible to manage Akron. Until this is resolved, UEFA Pro candidate Dmitry Emelyanov will be our official head coach. Still, Ramon will be in charge of the club’s tactics, team selection and direction.
In addition, we have signed Marko Dorjevic, Yagiz Cekem and Hugo Klingor to our coaching staff.
Here’s what Sporting Director Chris Docherty had to say about these appointments:
“After studying the most successful teams in modern football, I came to the unequivocal conclusion that I would like to hire a team of specialists, and not invite a head coach with 5 employees.
Marko is a former professional centre-back who will be in charge of defensive operations, while Yagiz Çekem, 30, has worked as an assistant coach in the Turkish Super League. He will work with us as a set pieces specialist – corners, free kicks and throws.
Hugo Klingor has 11 years of experience at the Dinamo Zagreb Academy, one of the most productive academies in Europe. Hugo will join the Academy as Technical Director and will implement the same structured learning process for each age group that has helped develop many of Croatia’s talented football players. In addition, he will be involved in the training process of the first team.”
