All goals in the match came from standards in the second half.
Both Akron and Ufa suffered personnel losses before the 11th round. The Togliatti team lost their top scorer and assistant Konstantin Savichev due to a bust of cards, while the Ufa team did not bring Katalin Karp, Ruslan Fishchenko and Pavel Evseev due to disqualifications and injuries. Almost neighbors in the table and geography met each other for the first time.
The match began rather chaotically: the teams fought for the initiative and created little constructiveness. In the first half, the opponents had little to do, so its fair result was zeros on the scoreboard. After a pause, the intrigue in the match sparkled with new colors: immediately after reaching the second half, Ufa took the lead after a well-played free kick. This even more forced our team to go into pressure and try to turn the tide of the fight. In the 63rd minute, Vladimir Azarov was knocked down by Dmitry Golubev in the penalty area, and a minute later Konstantin Bazelyuk had already spread the ball and the goalkeeper in different corners, equalizing and scoring his first goal this season.
Akron caught their game and looked preferable to the opponent. At the 79th minute, another standard could make the gathered fans happy, but the ball hit the post after a series of ricochets. At the end of the match, Karim Giraev was close to a goal a couple of times, but our attacker was let down by the sight.
“I’m sorry for the result. We should have taken three points. I think we had every opportunity to do so. We didn’t score many chances, we controlled the match. There was not enough in the end to snatch the victory, ”Akron midfielder Vladimir Azarov summed up after the match.
