Our team exchanged goals with an opponent from Khabarovsk.

We ended the calendar year with a series of home matches, which culminated in the duel with SKA Khabarovsk, which won the last five matches. Roman Sharonov’s squad showed super-successful football, but in Zhigulevsk there was not a trace of him. Akron blocked the opponent in his half of the field from the first minutes, controlled the course of the match and created chances. Our team succeeded, perhaps, with the exception of the implementation. The Khabarovsk team counted on counterplay, but the defenders of the hosts stopped all attempts of the “army team” to reach the goal of Sergei Volkov.

After the break, the “red-blacks” did not slow down their momentum and in the 64th minute turned a tangible advantage into a goal scored: Konstantin Bazelyuk accurately closed the serve of Maxim Palienko. The tension subsided a little, but the Khabarovsk team took advantage of this, who, after a pass in the penalty area, equalized the score in the 68th minute thanks to the efforts of Magomed Musalov. The game took on a slightly different character: SKA had more chances ahead, but Akron also went to the end in the hope of snatching an important victory. The final whistle of Vladimir Seldyakov fixed a draw and sent the teams to a well-deserved rest.

Akron finished the summer-autumn part of the 2022/23 season in 13th place. In the autumn months, with Evgeny Kaleshin, our team scored three victories, drew eight times and lost only once. Togliatti players also have three victories in the qualifying stage of the Way of the Regions of the Cup of Russia and a historic entry into the playoffs of the tournament.
